Forklift Masts Costa Mesa - The city of Costa Mesa is located in Orange County. This multicultural city hosts just about 114,000 residents within its sixteen square miles. On the cities southern boarder, approximately one mile away is the Pacific Ocean. Costa Mesa was incorporated in the year 1953 with a population of about 16,840. Initially, the cities market was dependent on semi rural farming but because the city has grown, it has come to rely increasingly more on retail commercial companies and action sports businesses, like for example surfing, skateboarding and snowboarding. Los Angeles is situated about 37 miles northwest from the city. San Diego is 88 miles south and San Francisco is 475 miles north. Other cities which are nearby are Fountain Valley, Santa Ana, Newport Beach, Irvine and Huntington Beach.

The city has a variety of well maintained amenities, including two golf courses, three libraries, and more than 25 parks. It is also home to twenty public schools and the post secondary institutions Whittier Law School, Orange Coast College, Nation University and Vanguard University.

There are many arts buildings which cater to the artists of the area. These buildings include the Renee and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall and Theater, South Coast Repertory Theater, and the Orange County Performing Arts Center. The largest shopping center in the city, the South Coast Plaza, is home to more than 320 stores. It generates amongst the highest volume of sales out of local shopping centers in the state of California.

The administrative functions of the city take place within the five story high Costa Mesa Civic Center, which covers 9.5 acres. In addition, the Council Chambers, Communications, Police Department, and Fire State No. 5 can be found here. The Center could be found at 77 Fair Drive.

Interstate highways 55 and 73, as well as Interstate 405 run through the city. This enables visitors and residents to travel to and from the city.

There are many activities to do all-around the city, with some high/low deserts, beaches and mountain ranges near Costa Mesa. Individuals who are interested in a more urban experience can visit Knott's Berry Farm, Palm Springs and Disneyland, and Los Angeles (which is home to several sports arenas and major league teams).
