Forklift Masts Orange - Located in the middle of Orange County, the beautiful city of Orange covers 38 square miles of total area and houses about 138,640 people. The city has a "Sphere of Influence" of about fifty five square miles. Within this sphere of influence lies over 18,500 acres of undeveloped land, that is currently owned by the Irvine Company. Los Angeles lies around thirty two miles northwest of Orange.

The city was founded by Alfred Chapman and Andrew Glassell, both of which were lawyers, in 1869. Rather than money, they were givenaccepted over 1285 acres of land from the Rancho Santiago de Santa Ana as legal fees. They first made a large, 40 acre centre town site referred to as the Plaza and afterward started to lay out 10 acre farm lots surrounding it. Nowadays, the Plaza remains the centre of the town and the symbol of the community. There are some houses and buildings within the area that have lasted the test of time, among which are registered on the national registry of historic places. The city was officially incorporated on April 6, the year 1888.

As for government, the city chooses a new mayor every two years. There are four council members who are selected to four year terms but are alternated every two years. The city council elects the City Manager, who is the city's administrative official.

The city offers several services and amenities to its people. The major places of safety (like police, fire, emergency transportation and paramedics) are all covered by the city, as are recreation areas consisting of the library and parks. The senior citizen center is a private agency which is contracted with the city. Orange is kept up to date as far as street improvements and lighting are concerned. The city works its very own water utility within the city.
