 Forklift Masts Vallejo - Situated on San Pablo bay's north-eastern shore is Vallejo, the biggest city in Solano County. It was named after General Mariano Guadalupe and presently hosts a population of 116,760.
There are some major cities offering employment centers nearby, like for instance San Fransisco, Berkeley, Oakland, Tri Valley area and Walnut Creek/Concord. These locations are easily reachable through the existing transportation system.
There are major highways that run close by the city, like State Highways 37 and 29 as well as Interstate Highways 780 and 80. These highways make easy for workers in the area to work within the major cities close by. The Vallejo Bay Link Ferry, that takes less then an hour to move from Vallejo to San Francisco, is used by over 2000 individuals each and every day. The oldest naval base west of Mississippi used to be located on Mare Island. Since its decommission during 1996, new homes have been planned and built on it's previous location. Touro University, that is located on the south side of the island, is planning on opening a state of the art cancer research facility. One economic plan of Vallejo is to revitalize Mare Island, that will be done by the construction of new neighborhoods. There is lots of rich history as well as an abundance of national historic landmarks situated here, none the least of which is the one of the nations oldest decommissioned naval bases and shipyards. Along with these, there is even a 19th century brick industrial warehouse and a couple of coal shed artist studios. A couple of other famous historic landmarks are the Alden park, Chapel park and Officers mansions (designated historic landscapes), and the oldest golf course west of the Mississippi. Lastly, the Saint Peters Chapel, that was made in 1901, houses the largest collection of Louis Comfort Tiffany's stain-glass windows.
