 Forklift Masts Irving - Irving is a busy city situated within the Dallas-Plano-Irving division of the Fort Worth-Arlington-Dallas metropolitan area. As of 2010, the cities population is projected to be 216,290. Among the very first master-planned developments of the country, the Las Colinas area, is situated in the city of Irving. It is spread out more than 12,000 acres and was once the biggest mixed-use development in the Southwest. The Mustangs at Las Colinas, the world's biggest horse sculpture, is located in this area. The Irving Convention Center was established in Las Colinas during the month of January 2011. The Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport is also in Irving city limits.
The area was initially inhabited during the early 1850's with the city of Irving being founded by Otis Brown and J.O. Schulze in 1902. There were some other smaller communities that existed withnin the region, like for instance Kit Shady Grove, Sower, Finley, Union Bower, Estelle and Bear Creek, but they were all merged together in order to form the city of Irving during the year 1903. On the 14th of April, 1914 the city was officially incorporated.
The two founders, Brown and Schulze, were both working at the Chicago, Rock Island and Gulf Railway. After arriving in the region in order to survey a railroad route between Fort Worth and the city of Dallas in the year 1902, they acquired the 80 acres which the British Family owned and started to develop the city. On December 19, 1903 the first town lots were bought at a public auction. During 1904, the post office from Kit was relocated to Irving.
The city of Irving is a thriving business centre with thousands of companies and six Fortune-500 global head offices. There are hundreds of amazing skyscrapers, particularly in Las Colinas and Valley Ranch. These two developments have just experienced rapid growth, that makes it a desirable site for potential residents. There are several business advantages to residing right beside the cities of Dallas and Fort Worth. Furthermore, the airport is convenient and close. The only five-diamond rating resort within Texas is located in Irving.
From the year 1971 until 2008, the Dallas Cowboys played at Texas Stadium within the city of Irving. The area is currently zoned for a big mixed-used project nearby the State Highway 114. Forest City Enterprises, that is the lead developer on the project, is currently rehabilitating the Mercantile complex situated within the city of Dallas. They intend to renovate it into a Rockefeller Centre-style multiple-use project.
The city of Irving has an assortment of terrific attractions, sports facilities and restaurants to provide to its visitors and residents. Fort Worth and Dallas are only minutes away and offer other great activities.
