 Forklift Masts Stockton - Stockton is a culturally and ethnically diverse community that continues to grow steadily. With a population of 280,000, Stockton is considered the 13th largest city within the state of California. Sixty miles to the west is San Francisco Bay, and 83 miles west is San Francisco itself. The city is in a relatively central location, with Sacramento located just forty five miles to the south. The San Joaquin Delta waterway unites the San Joaquin and Sacramento Rivers to San Francisco Bay.
Recently, Stockton City has undergone a huge economic development with a particular concentration on revitalizing the downtown area. There are several projects either being built or currently planned, like for example retail, apartments, housing, an indoor arena, a hotel and a baseball stadium. The arena will host four major sports teams: Stockton Ports Minor Baseball, Stockton Lightning Area2 Foot Ball, Stockton Thunder Hockey, and the California Cougars Soccer. At the gateways of the city, Stockton is building a variety of retail and entertainment centers. In the year 2003 the City Centre Cinemas, the sixteen screen movie theatre, was developed.
The financial system of Stockton was originally based almost exclusively on agriculture. Ever since that time, the city has greatly diversified, with telecommunication and manufacturing plants becoming more common. The strong ties with agriculture will gradually become more and more important as the concentration on attempting to find a renewable energy increases.
The land is fairly inexpensive and the proximity of the transportations routes have enabled the companies of Pac-West Telecommunications, Golden State Lumber Company and Duraflame to build their regional operations within Stockton. The city is even great for those companies based on renewable energy; among the biggest receivers of wind turbines is the Port of Stockton. There is an extremely efficient and reliable rail system within the city, that helps to make the distribution of products go effortlessly. Even with the ethanol and bio-diesel plants built near the Port, there is still more than 2000 acres of free space obtainable
The city of Stockton is now currently developing green sustainable resources. The High Schools as well as various educational institutions are working together with the local governments to be able to help in the education process dealing with renewable energy. The hope is there is a quick solution to the declining supply of oil.
